Bishop Persico shared several letters with us over the summer regarding Pastoral Planning, trying to paint the larger picture of the challenges facing the entire Diocese of Erie and prepare us for the preliminary proposal for the county of Erie. On August 29th Bishop Persico met with Clergy and Staff of the Parishes in Erie presenting the Preliminary Plan. Keep in mind that proposals for Brandford Deanery, Clearfield Deanery, and Oil City Deanery have already been proposed, which can be viewed on the Pastoral Planning microsite, please click here.
For St. Francis Xavier Parish, the Diocese is proposing that we partner with Our Lady of the Lake Parish. This means that we would have one priest between the two parishes, bring together our Pastoral Councils, and consider what other areas we can collaborate. Finance Councils and finances themselves will remain separate.
Clergy Assignments are not part of the consideration as of right now.
